Today is the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia, and Robin Cooper from SAGE (Thunder Bay’s Sexuality and Gender Equity working group) joined me to talk about how private and public groups in the city are working together to provide support for the GLBT community. This show also features a visit from Victoria artist Peggy Frank, who’s traveling across the country with a 7-foot sculpture of a cocktail glass (made out of HIV medication bottles) in the back of her truck. You can find more information about Peggy’s trip and see a picture of the sculpture here. Finally, Valerie Guenther stopped by the show to discuss the Hour4Hour Thunder Bay Time Exchange, an innovative way to encourage people to give back to each other and receive help from other community members. Learn more about time banks at www.timebanks.org or thunderbay.timebanks.org, or send Valerie an email at hour4hourTBay@gmail.com. Listen to the full show by clicking here.
