What the heck is going on at LU Radio?!

July 18th, 2014 by Station Manager

Well, let us tell you!

Starting Friday night at 9pm, LU Radio is shutting down the station house for 10 days so that we can clean, renovate and do some much needed repairing to the space we all love so much. The good folks at Gordon Trailer Sales and Rentals brought us an awesome 8′x20′ storage unit so we could clear all of our crap out of the station.

We’ve accumulated a lot of stuff and done a lot of ‘let’s get it to work now and we’ll make it pretty later’ type repairs so now it’s ‘later’! Don’t worry though, we are still broadcasting on FM and online at and you’ll still be hearing all of your favourite shows! The majority of our programmers have done brand new shows specifically for this downtime so you’ll also hear some great new programming!

We have much of what we need for our renovations but there are a few things outstanding that we could really use if anyone out there has extra to donate. We’ll post more things as we go but we would LOVE to be able to replace the carpeting in the booth and Jason’s office, which is probably as old as the house. So, if anyone has carpeting they’d like to donate, that would be awesome! We are very happy with almost anything as long as it’s clean and relatively low pile. Ends, mismatched pieces, carpet ’tiles’, if you have it and are willing to donate, please call Jason at 766-7260 and let him know!

We could also make use of some throw rugs in the station if you don’t have carpeting. The front room and Shawn’s office could use some more sound deadening!

Thank you to everyone who is pitching in to make this happen and to everyone who continues to tune in to and support LU Radio! If you have any questions or concerns about the station ‘shutdown’ or about LU Radio in general, please feel free to get in touch with Jason!
